Today, nearly 500,000 Americans are imprisoned on drug charges. In 1980 the number was 50,000. Last year $40 billion in taxpayer dollars were spent in fighting the war on drugs. As a result of the incarceration obsession, the United States operates the largest prison system on the planet, and the U.S. nonviolent prisoner population is larger than the combined populations of Wyoming and Alaska. Try to imagine the Drug Enforcement Administration erecting razor wire barricades around two states to control crime and you'll get the picture. According to the U.S. Dept of Justice, the number of offenders under age 18 imprisoned for drug offenses increased twelve fold from 1985 to 1997. The group most affected by this propensity for incarceration is African-Americans. From 1985 to 1997, the percentage of African-American young people put in prison increased from 53 to 62 percent. Today, 89 percent of police departments have paramilitary units, and 46 percent have been trained by active duty armed forces. In the pre literate world, the knowledge of psychedelic plant sacraments, as well as fertility rites and astronomical knowledge surrounding the sun, stars, and zodiac, known as astrotheology, were anthropomorphized into human/god like beings so their stories and practices could be passed down for generations. Weather changes over millenniums caused environmental changes that altered the available foods and plant sacraments available in the local vicinity. If a tribe lost its shamanic El-der (El - God), all of the tribe's knowledge of their plant sacraments as well as astronomical knowledge would be lost. Great video! Also described is an incident where two teenage boys Don Henry and Kevin Ives had been murdered for their witnessing of a drug shipment delivery in Mena, Arkansas. Eventually a total of six people involved in the investigation of their murders were murdered as well, including Keith McKaskle, who was involved in the murders and attempted to approach police with information. The Clinton appointed State Medical Examiner Fahmy Malak, who ruled the deaths of the boys an accident, refused to obey court orders for turning over the evidence for a second opinion. Malak had been kept in office for many years at the insistence of Governor Clinton and had even been given a raise, despite years of public outcry to have him removed for giving implausible rulings in homicide deaths including once ruling that James Milam, who had been decapitated, had died from natural causes.
